Today, we went over some of T#10's questions.  We also looked at some formulas for solving moles to mass and mass to moles problems.  Then we worked on a Moles activity that took us outside.

Today students finished doing measurements in the lab for part 2 of T#10.  Then all students had time to work on the questions, making sense, and practice and application.  The lesson is due at the end of the period.

Tuesday, May 23rd

Today we finished T#9 with the check in question.  Then we began T#10, "What's in a mole?".  Students split up and some worked on Part 1 and some went into the lab to do Part 2.  We'll continue with T#10 during the next class period.

Monday, May 22nd

Today I handed back the Toxins 1 test.  Students are able to do test corrections by Friday to get half the points missed back.  Then we continued with T#9.

Friday, May 19th

Today in class we started working on lesson T#9, defining a mole and learning how to use scientific notation.  Students worked on the analysis and practice questions.  THere will be some work time on Monday, and T#9 will be due.

Today the was a sub and students watched a NOVA movie, Lethal Seas.  There were also questions to answer with the video.

Today, we finished the lab portion of T#6+.  Students performed the 3 additional reactions types, single replacement, double replacement, and decomposition.  After the experiments, students completed 4 chemical equations, providing the products and balancing the equations.

Today students started lesson T#5, balancing chemical equations.  We worked through some balancing examples together, then students had a bit of time to work on procedures and questions #2.  On Monday there will be some work time on the MS and practice, and I will check off all of lesson #5.
