Friday, December 16th

3rd, 5th, and 6th periods

Today, students had time to finish A#8.  They did Activity part 1 and 2, MS, Stretching, W to L.  I changed the instructions for the Practice section.  Students chose one of the scientists referred to in the reading passage and did research on his atomic experiment.  They then wrote a summary paragraph of that experiment.  Lesson A#8 will be checked off on January 3rd, when we return from break.

Today, students displayed their posters during the Element poster gallery walk.  Everyone took notes about 2 elements other than their own, and turned in the notes, rubric, and poster.

Next, we started A#8.  There will be time to work on A#8 during the next class period.

Monday, December 5th

Today students got graded quizzes back and we went over the answers.  Quizzes can be retaken Thursday, Monday, or Tuesday before or after school or by appointment.

Next, we finished lesson A#7.  I checked off that it was finished, discussed some periodic table vocabulary, and did a check in question.

Lastly students were given an assignment to do an Element poster assignment.  The rubric for the assignment can be found here.

Friday, December 2nd

Today, we went over the review and had a quiz.  To start class, I initialed completed reviews.  Then we went over answers to the review.  Students took the quiz and turned in the review.  I will check off A#7 with the colored periodic table on Monday.

Today in class, we did a check in for A#6.  Then students worked on A#7 analysis, practice, and writing to learn.  I also gave a handout for color coding the periodic table.

Today in class, students had time to finish the analysis, making sense, and practice for  A#6.  It was due at the end of the period.  Students who finished had the option of starting lesson A#7 or the practice/review for the quiz on Friday.
